Depression

Depression can be a very debilitating illness which affects not only the individual, but also those around them – friends, family and partners. It may even have an effect on their performance at work. Depression is extremely treatable, there is no need to just put up with it as many people do. Up to one in 6 people suffer from depression at some stage of their lives, so it is not an illness that you have to suffer in silence with, you are most certainly not alone.

The Symptoms of Depression.

The type and degree of Depression that you suffer can vary but there are several common symptoms to them all – they can include
  • Regular feelings of sadness, tension or loneliness
  • Weight loss or weight gain
  • Sleeping problems, increase or loss of sleep or unable to sleep
  • Lack of concentration or being forgetful
  • Lack of energy and constant tiredness
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Reluctance to make a decision
  • Feeling ashamed, guilty or low self-esteem
